Since our first newsletter was published back in February, UNITAR has successfully partnered with established global institutions, fostered fruitful cooperation with the likes of many industry heavyweights, both locally and globally as well as hosted a slew of exciting events to boost the spirit of UNITARians.

Petaling Jaya, 30 April 2024 – Spreading education excellence across the globe, UNITAR International University inked a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the O.P Jindal Global University (JGU), India. This momentous occasion took place at UNITAR’s flagship campus in Kelana Jaya and was witnessed by several highly distinguished VIPs from both institutions.
In efforts to promote globalised education, UNITAR International University (“UNITAR”) has partnered with the Jiaxing Nanyang Polytechnic Institute (JNPI) and Zhejiang Jingxing Paper Joint Stock Co Ltd. (Jingxing Holdings Sdn. Bhd.) to introduce a Modern Apprenticeship Joint Training Programme. This collaboration between the parties is set to award students a Diploma in Mechatronics Engineering upon completion with an opportunity for employment in Malaysia. (Artikel dalam Bahasa Inggeris)
Cultural exchange, free meal distribution, inspirational sharing and more!
In conjunction with the Holy Month of Ramadan Al-Mubarak, the Student Experience Department in collaboration with Tabung Amanah Zakat UNITAR will distribute Free Meals to the UNITAR students, weekly on Thursday and Friday until the end of the month.
In the spirit of cultural exchange, UNITAR welcomed students and educators from the Kyoto Municipal Horikawa Senior High School. Over 93 enthusiastic participants visited our Main Campus in Kelana Jaya to explore the rich magnificence of Malaysia and Japan.
Featuring UNITAR’s esteemed Faculty of Business Lecturer, Ms Azrin Abdul Razak, the Career Compass Workshop showcased invaluable insights into what students need to look out for when they first step into the workforce.
From offering personalised consultation to engaging with prospective students about our wide-ranging programmes, UNITAR graced thousands of passionate students with our award-winning offerings.
As part of its University Social Responsibility (USR), UNITAR held a community gathering event at Desa Mentari that featured a host of activities and exhibition booths by various governmental bodies. Immersed in the spirit of unity, the lively crowd cheered as they were enlightened on strengthening social responsibility as responsible citizens of Malaysia.

Exclusive to UNITAR students, this event was a golden avenue for those seeking internship placements and career opportunities. Through this platform, students got the chance to connect with established organisations and explore potential career paths, as well as gain insights into the workforce within various industries for a rewarding experience.
With over three decades of handling leadership positions, UNITAR’s Adjunct Professor Cheah Sook Hoon shared with our audience how she pioneered changes within the international tech industry, including sharing her outstanding role in a Global 500 IT Corporation. This is a type of loan provided by the Malaysian government to assist students financially in public as well as private institutions of higher learning. The National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) was established under the National Higher Education Fund Act 1997 (Act 566) and is effective from 1st July 1997. The Online Application is open throughout the year. Candidates may apply for the programme of their choice by clicking on the Request info button. Please fill up the required information and we will contact and guide you through the application process.
If you possess other equivalent qualification(s) such as a Foundation or Diploma from another University/College/Institution/Polytechnic, you are required to submit the following documents:
- A certified true copy of Certificate of Completion(s).
- A certified true copy of Academic Transcript(s).
- All relevant information and materials related to your previous studies from SPM onward.

This scheme allows Employees Provident Fund (EPF) members to withdraw from Account II to pay the fees to undertake further studies in local or overseas institutions.
e-Pengeluaran is an online EPF withdrawal application via EPF website for members with i-Akaun.
SOCSO
The Social Security Organization (SOCSO) provides social security protection through social insurance, including medical and cash benefits, provision of artificial aids and rehabilitation to employees to reduce suffering and to provide financial guarantee and protection to the family. It is commonly known in Bahasa Malaysia as PERKESO or Pertubuhan Keselamatan Sosial.

International Students
UNITAR International University (UNITAR) application for admission is open throughout the year. Semester intakes are in January, May and September.
International Students are required to produce an Approval Letter from the Immigration Department of Malaysia on entering the country and possess a valid Student Pass and/or Student Visa while studying in Malaysia. The International Students Office will assist new International Students in obtaining the Approval Letter and Student Pass and/or Student Visa.
ISO will ensure that students fulfil the entry requirements of the University in order to obtain the University acceptance/offer letter. Students must fully understand the terms of payment to the University and the immigration procedures of Malaysia.
